Stephen brings 20 years of experience in the financial planning, investment advisory, and private investment arenas.

Stephen founded Addicus in 2012 along with Drew Adams, and currently leads its Private Equity and Investment Advisory divisions, as well as firm strategic operations. Stephen started Addicus after a decade in financial planning firms showed him a disconnect between the products the industry was selling and the actual ever-changing and complex needs of clients. Addicus was formed to focus solely on long-term strategy for a select group of successful, great families.

Stephen specializes in investment advisory, private equity, tax reduction, risk management, asset protection, asset allocation and location, as well as comprehensive strategic planning for all U.S., Non-U.S., and global citizens.

Stephen has spent two decades building a level of expertise that is highly sought after in the financial industry, all the while hearing clients asking for more in-depth, strategic advice. Prior to launching Addicus, Stephen began his career in 1999 working with Strategic Financial Partners Memphis, TN, before establishing his own firm, Independent Planning Group in 2011.

Stephen is also an Owner of Lion Street; a national financial services distribution company with over 150 firms nationwide. Lion Street Firms all specialize in financial solutions for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, business owners, and corporate clients.

Stephen is a published author and subject matter specialist. He has been a featured contributor in Investment News and appeared in the Mississippi Business Journal. He has presented for Lion Street events, Forum 400, and other national industry association events.

Stephen graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s in business administration where he was also a university letterman in football. He holds the designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation from the CFP Board as well as Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) from the American College in Pennsylvania. He is licensed in life, accident, property, casualty, and health insurance.

Stephen resides in Tupelo, Mississippi, with his wife Sonya and their daughter Saylor. When Stephen is not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, flying, traveling, and participating in shooting sports.
